Prd 029 Essential characteristics and drivers of the proposed JAR&A Financial Analytical Suite™? Created by James on 6/26/2013 11:01:55 AM
The following is an overview of the essential characteristics and drivers of what is being proposed:
1. Integrated holistic financial suite
An integrated, holistic financial analytical suite founded on James Robertson’s extremely diverse and deep experience of working with numbers, graphical and statistical techniques and other context over his entire life starting with a distinction for Mathematics in High School.
2. Executives do NOT know the questions they will ask next
Based on recognition that executives do NOT know the questions they will want to ask in the future until the time comes to ask the question at which point an instantaneous answer “at the touch of a button” is required.
3. Many reports are semi-generic in concept
Based on the understanding that there are a huge variety of reports and queries that are effectively semi-generic and which can be rapidly deployed WHEN there is a suitable logical data foundation.
4. Deep understanding of the power of hierarchies
Deep understanding of the power of hierarchies and the associated structured thinking that greatly simplifies the business of understanding an organization and modelling it.
5. Deep understanding of the power of structured codes
Deep understanding of the power of structured codes underpinning the hierarchies as enablers of sophisticated computer based analysis of data – Intelligent Data™.
6. Deep understanding of the power of models
Deep experientially based understanding of the power of numerically based financial and economic models in supporting high value decision making.
7. 25 years exploring the Cubic Business Model™
25 years of exploring and applying the Cubic Business Model™ and associated matrix as a financial management and corporate governance device to greatly enhance corporate performance.
8. A huge range of new techniques become readily achievable
A realization that once such hierarchies, codes and models have been created and raw data has been mapped and transformed there is an entire suite of analysis, query, reporting, modelling and management techniques that become possible that cannot be otherwise achieved.
9. Awareness that big bang ERP re-implementation is NOT viable
Realization that “big bang” re-implementation of ERP is extremely costly and extremely high risk and that incremental remediation is the best approach.
I hope that this outline has given some idea of the characteristics and drivers of the proposed Financial Analytical Suite.
